A resultant force is what is left after every force on the car is added up. If it points forward the car speeds up, if it points backward the car slows down, and if it is zero the car keeps the speed it already has. That last case is the trap: a zero resultant does not mean stopped, it means steady. Match the driving force to the resistance and the car cruises at a constant velocity.
MissionResistance is 500 N. Find the driving force that gives a constant velocity.Round 1Streak 0Best 0
With these forces the car is:
driving force600 N
resistance500 N
resultant force+100 N
acceleration a = resultant ÷ 1000 kg0.10 m/s²
resultant = driving − resistance. Zero resultant means the velocity does not change.
