A generator is just a coil spinning between magnets. As it turns, the voltage rises, falls, reverses, and rises again, tracing the wave you see on the screen. This is how power stations make the mains supply. The voltage is biggest when the coil cuts the field lines fastest, and zero for an instant twice every turn. Make the wave peak reach the target line.

Will the wave peak reach the target line?
The coil keeps spinning on its own. Set the controls, predict, then take the reading.

Spinning faster raises the peak AND the frequency. More turns or a stronger magnet raise the peak only. One full turn makes one full wave.
