Interactive Simulator · I-V Characteristic Tracer

Read the I-V Curve

A mystery component sits in the circuit. Sweep the voltage across it from negative to positive and the current-voltage graph draws itself, point by point. A straight line through the origin means a fixed resistor; a curve that bends over means a filament lamp heating up; a graph that only conducts one way is a diode. Sweep the whole range, then name the component.

Mission Sweep the voltage, then identify the mystery component. Round 1 Streak 0 Best 0
This component is a:
voltage V0.0 V
current I0.00 A
resistance R = V ÷ I--
componentmystery
R = V ÷ I at each point. Straight line: constant R. Bending curve: rising R. One-way: a diode.
