Four parts, one coherent lesson
Every part returns to one picture: the vector triangle. Two perpendicular vectors join tip to tail, and the resultant is found by drawing and by calculation.
Lesson plan
A timed 45-minute sequence: a predict hook, both methods modelled, Rally Coach, a calculation check, and an exit ticket. Objectives, vocabulary, examiner traps, differentiation and a timing and contingency note.
Worksheet and answers
Six original questions on combining perpendicular vectors, by drawing and by Pythagoras and the tangent ratio, with a full worked answer key.
Slides
Ten editable slides with accurate diagrams: the vector triangle, both methods, and clean triples for fluency.
Rally Coach problem set
Two matched problem sets for paired practice, with a full answer key of magnitudes and angles.

This bundle pairs with the student topic page Resultant of perpendicular vectors, which walks through the vector triangle and both methods. Set it for pre-reading, or open it on the board during the build.
One headline, then two methods
The lesson opens on the trap: 3 N and 4 N at right angles do not make 7 N. From there it builds two methods on the same example, scale drawing and calculation, so learners can see the resultant measured and then confirmed by Pythagoras and the tangent ratio.
Rally Coach then gives step-by-step paired practice on clean triples, where the coaching catches the usual slips: adding magnitudes, mixing up the tangent sides, or leaving off the direction. Every answer must carry a magnitude and a direction.
