How it is built

Three rays, then every case

The lesson opens on a puzzle: one lens makes a large upright picture and a small inverted one. From there it builds the three predictable rays, each bent once at the lens line, so that any two locate the image and the third checks it.

The Jigsaw then splits the five object positions into expert roles, and every home group needs all four experts to complete the comparison table. The traps it pre-empts are the classic ones: bending rays twice, leaving off the ruler and arrows, and confusing the real image with the virtual one. The activity ships with a full facilitation guide so it can be run faithfully, including by a cover teacher.
