Projectile motion, two motions at once

How it is built

Keep the two motions apart

Most projectile errors come from mixing the two motions: thinking the horizontal velocity slows, treating the launch speed as horizontal, or calling the velocity zero at the top. The lesson holds the motions apart with the parabolic-path model, equal horizontal steps and growing vertical drops, then resolves and solves each motion cleanly.

The Cooperative Concept Mapping activity then makes learners connect the whole of kinematics around projectiles, with every link owned and justified by a named learner. It ships with the concept card set and a teacher model map, so it can be run faithfully.
